I am an experienced garden designer with a passion for horticulture and landscaping which motivated me to study and obtain a master’s degree in garden design.
My approach is hands-on: besides being a garden designer I have solid experience as a professional gardener and in many aspects of construction. Having designed and overseen the construction of a country cottage, as well as garden buildings and landscaping, I can (if required) help you integrate your garden into your home as part of your working and living space. Although I would always recommend you use contractors to implement major redesigns, I can help you with the process. For designs that do not involve construction or serious landscaping, I can carry them out myself and with trusted assistants.
Although garden design is often a one-off activity involving a substantial makeover, it can be a subtler and ongoing process. With some clients, I am happy to work as a professional gardener including some ongoing design.
Qualifications
I have both a postgraduate diploma and an MA in garden design from the world-renowned Inchbald School of Design. My MA thesis was on the designer-client relationship – so I’m very tuned in to understanding what my clients want and then turning it into something beautiful and functional.
My mission is to make you proud of your garden – to make it look the way you would want it to look if you did the work yourself.
